Third Ward Photos

The Third Ward in Milwaukee was filled with many "artsy" objects. The Third Ward seemed like a ghost town when we visited. It had large buildings and homes, however I did not see many people. I personally found the Third Ward to be weird. I do not intend to go back soon.
This first photograph I took was of a vintage car. This car really popped out. For some reason I felt I had to take a picture. This car had good craftsmanship and great balance as far as color schemes go.

This is a picture of me next to a gold Buddha statue. I thought is was interesting and felt it was necessary to take a picture with it. I believe the statue was made out of metal and contained a great deal of detail. I could tell this statue took a long time to make.

.
My favorite photo is this one. The setting of this photo was a sketchy basement of an antique store. These dolls were probably made a long time ago in South Eastern Asia. They seemed like they had a voodoo or taboo spirit inside them. They were very crafty. I'm sure at one point the were a kid's favorite toy.

MIAD Photos

Everything at MIAD really caught my eye. The color schemes and variety which each piece used is what drew my attention during our tour through the college. At MIAD I was mainly interested in the depth and completion all the student's final art pieces seemed to have.
This first gallery featured drawing and painting medias. With these tools, the students at MIAD were able to create certain perspectives, perspectives which could not be portrayed using other medias. Some of these pieces were more simple than others, however none of them lacked full quality.

This next gallery was primarily made up of abstract paintings. There was something about these art pieces which really caught my attention. The paintings all create a certain unreal sense. These paintings are difficult to describe.

This category was probably my favorite section, due to the format and style of all these advertisements.

My Art

Following my passion of art over the years, I've really grown an interest in depicting great events like riots or war. Huge events which require great amounts of detail and great stories in every inch of the piece. Using symbolism to depict back stories and other interesting events are my focus this year. I am choosing to focus my art work in the subject of current events. As new events occur around the world, I'm going to try and draw them for my major project. As of now I will be focusing on unfolding events in places such as Syria and Egypt.

Scholastic Art Review

This is a great website. I really enjoy the types of features on this website, and I especially like what this Scholastic Art program is about. The web page is well organized, as I browsed it I was able to view many of its features. My favorite component of this site was its gallery again. The gallery had a great variety of art pieces made by kids my age and younger. Some were even 13! You could tell many of these award winning art pieces made by kids had great stories behind them. This website did a great job of grabbing my attention. 10 out of 10.
